Life can become very complicated. Technology has, in many ways, made our lives easier, yet more complicated. We have more choices today than at any other time in history. We can buy almost anything from almost anywhere in the world 24 hours a day. The world of Financial Planning is no exception.

We have bears and bulls and even "spiders". We have ETF's, RMD's and REIT's. Currently there are over 7,000 Mutual Funds to choose from. Thousands of stocks are available from around the world. Should we buy gold or sell silver? What about Real Estate? Large Caps, Small Caps, White Caps ... the world of Financial Planning has become very, very complicated.

What exactly does the client have to do to work toward their goals?

At Kent Financial we use the "bucket" approach (see attached article). This approach helps the client identify and answer the questions shown above. This approach is not complicated and does not require a 150 page "financial plan" that ends up in a file cabinet in the basement. "Buckets" is a template that is reviewed at each and every meeting to make sure we are answering the two basic questions ... What exactly is the client trying to accomplish? What exactly does the client have to do to work toward their goals?
