Credentials

Kent Snyder is a Financial Advisor. In this role he is able to do what he loves ... and that is to teach. As a Financial Advisor Kent provides four things to his clients; he helps them to organize their thoughts with regard to their goals. He provides an education as to the potential strategies available to work toward those goals. He will help you find a suitable strategy. He provides follow-up and review to ensure the plan is executed and on track.

Kent's goal is to establish a solid base of clients that believe as he does that Financial Planning is a process encompassing four key areas:

  • Risk Planning ... is the client, the client's income and their assets in a risk appropriate investment?
  • Tax Planning ... is the client effectively using the tax code and the many investment vehicles to minimize tax exposure?
  • Estate Planning ... is a plan in place to successfully transfer wealth while minimizing taxes and legal fees?
  • Wealth Planning ... this area includes planning for education, planning for retirement, planning to live financially independent.

This approach is not new, however, this methodology coupled with a patient, "one step at a time" mentality, has proven to be appropriate for Kent's clients.

Kent has earned a Master's Degree in Finance and a BBA from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. He is President and Principal of the Kent Financial Group. Kent has written several articles for the Detroit News outlining ways for the general public to use economic principles in their daily lives.

When Kent is not educating his clients by day, he is educating his students by night. One night a week, Kent teaches a variety of classes at Northwood University. Northwood has a University College specifically designed for adult professionals pursuing their education while working full time. As an Adjunct Professor, Kent has taught Micro and Macroeconomics, International Trade, Business Finance and a Philosophy class based on a book called When We are Free. This exposure to business professionals has provided many contacts and clients. Some of which have asked Kent to provide educational seminars to their employees and customers. Approximately a half dozen times per year Kent takes his chalk board on the road and educates people on topics to include Financial Statement Analysis, Understand Cash Flow, and Making Business Financial Decisions.
